Fellowship together Brethren that you might be Strengthened

Many men feel a total disconnect when it comes to church. If given a choice, spending time at church falls a distant second to spending time with friends, family, or doing just about anything else.  Why is this? Well, simply put, men just don’t feel connected. What are we doing to draw men ultimately to God through the church? and strengthen them in their personal walk with Christ?  We, at Living Faith Church, have Kingdom Men’s Ministry.  It means fellowship in the original Greek.  It’s also the name given to our growing Men’s Ministry.  We understand that men need to find others that can relate to them.  They need to have a group of men that can hold them accountable, give them a forum to ask questions, and a reason to hang out and connect.  Guys need someone that can say that they’ve been there, done that and got the t-shirt.  Men need to have time to fellowship with other men who don’t just wear their salvation on Sunday mornings then take it off with their suits; but demonstrate that this salvation, is their lifestyle. It’s like this example. You have a fire of burning coals. Each coal is kept burning by the one beside it; thus all the coals are set on fire by the same flame.  The combined energy of men gathered together draws men toward the flame and keeps them active and encouraged by the other members involved. First what does this fellowship involve?  As the scripture above states (Phil 1:5), men need to “fellowship (koinonia) in the gospel.”  Through their personal reading of the Word of God, men gain insight into the heart of God on answers to situations, purpose and identity.  Secondly, men need other men to discuss what the Words says; and koinonia among the brethren begins. The Apostle John puts it this way, “That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship (koinonia) with us; and truly our fellowship (koinonia) is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”  Finally, going back to our example, as the fire grows within a man’s heart to desire after God just like those around him, a blaze of koinonia (fellowship) strengthens each one attracts others to seek out a new walk or deepen a current walk with Christ. Kingdom Men’s Ministry is the second Saturday of every month at 10 am in the Family Life Center.  Come experience the fellowship!
